Renovating Me

70.8 And Feeling Great (Mostly)

Sunday, 4 February 2007

So there is an upside to having 5 days of some gastric thing when you are on holidays. A kilos worth of upsides! Woohoo! Of course whether that kilo stays off or not is another thing, now that the gastro has finally decided to slink out of town hopefully never to be seen again.

I'm back at work this week. I'm not liking my job too much of late. It's boring, the company is so poorly organised, I have a boss who can be totally nice immediately followed by totally nasty, and I work with one of the most obnoxiously rude accountants in the world.

Don't you look about sometimes and think there has to be more to life than this? I mean, HAS to be? Because this cycle of going to work, going home, cooking dinner, going to bed, getting up just to do it all again can't be all there is? Can it?

It's that old head in the right place thing I think - I can identify - every so often I go through a similar stage - everything seems so repetitive and endless. Fortunately I usually seem to evolve into a more positive frame of mind after a few days - hope the same happens for you. And there's usually good in everything if you look hard enough - certainly the case with your gastric upset and subsequent great loss.
Cheers

I agree with everything Zanna said.

And... if accepting your circumstances and finding joy in the little things doesn't work, you can always plan a career change, or downshift to a job with less stress or so forth. In the meantime, you have your family and friends by yourside to enjoy the journey with all its ups and downs. :-)
